Six Overcoats

Although this beech tree copse is just a couple of miles from where I live it was six overcoats colder this afternoon. The icy blast from the North whipped the trees into a crazy orchestra.

We were glad to join the skeletons warming themselves by the log burner in the Courthill Tea Room.

  1. Thomas Davis Says:

We are getting snow in New Mexico, Val, and it is six overcoats colder than yesterday. Unfortunately, the two inches on the ground won’t even begin to address the drought’s severity. I like looking at the beech trees in your land.

  2. Val Moulton Says:

It must be very cold there, Thomas. I hope the drought doesn’t last too long. We haven’t had snow yet. Arctic wind chill and damp make quite a difference to how we feel here.
I love the beech trees, especially when it is windy. They sound like the sea.
